Despite a history of involvement in racial justice (e.g., Baskin-Sommers et al., 2021), little is known about adolescent development of antiracist attitudes and actions (Aldana et al., 2019). However, there exists a breadth of related research. This paper proposes a framework of antiracist orientation in order to identify and structure this disparate literature. In identifying this literature, the paper the summarizes what is known about the role of schools in shaping adolescent antiracist orientation development. The review finds that curricula, interventions, climate and racial diversity are all impactful. Though it seems that explicit curricula that addresses components of antiracism may be most promising, additional research is needed to continue to make sense of this diverse literature.
