Education systems world over are adjusting for substantive setbacks in learning trajectories, adapting for flexibility and diversity. This study provides an in-depth analysis of the resources and conditions needed for principals and teachers as agents of change to diagnose the nature of educational challenges faced, engage in communities of practices, and effectively differentiate interventions in response. It draws on a theory of practice architectures and deploys a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches to explore the responses of seventeen education systems in Caribbean SIDS recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings illuminate the nuances, compromises, and complexities of educational transformation for adaptability, and redefine school and system level resilience as characterized by community coherence, comprehension, and consistency.
