Abstract

This study is a replication study of the impact of Strategic and Interaction Writing Instruction , an approach to writing instruction designed for deaf and hard of hearing students, implemented with students in grades 3-6. This presentation will highlight genre specific writing and language outcomes, and performance on the Woodcock Johnson-IV (WJ-IV) measure of broad written language and sub-tests of reading. Preliminary analyses show that students in the treatment group made statistically significant writing gains in comparison to students in the comparison group.
