This qualitative study investigated the high school to college transition of 5 Latina/o students from California’s San Joaquin Valley. This study applied community cultural wealth (CCW) theory (Yosso, 2005) and bridging multiple worlds(BMW) theory (Cooper, 2011) to examine the transition from high school to college. Results indicated that participants' primary sources of cultural wealth were aspirational, familial, and social capitals. Participants also bridged new worlds of friends, educators, and self-perceptions as they transitioned from high school to college. Teachers need to utilize CCW pedagogies to increase underrepresented students' aspirations to enroll in college. College transition and retention programs aid students to develop and to maintain new worlds that positively impact their educational experiences.
