Abstract

Teachers’ resilience (TR), understood as the ability to withstand adverse circumstances in the school context has been highly referred to in recent years, especially during the last health crisis.
TR was analyzed in four distinctive dimensions: professional, emotional, motivational, and social to check for differences in its perception among expert, beginner, and preservice teachers, and to describe whether the COVID-19 pandemic had any effect on teachers’ ways of dealing with complex situations.
A 26-item questionnaire was handed out to 300 teachers. The main results indicate that no significant differences were found in the three groups. TR's emotional dimension increased significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic. This led us to think that more emphasis should be given to teachers’ needs (not only students’ needs).
