Abstract

Starting in the 1990s, in different countries, civic education focuses on the formation of democratic citizens. Mexico was not the exception. Through education reforms 2006 and 2011, the rights of children and adolescents arise on the curriculum of basic education.
Because of its significance in learning, there is a right that must be particularly guaranteed in public school: the right to student participation. This article aims to show the changes found (before and after), regarding the right to participate in school, when using a collaborative methodology as it is YPAR, for understanding and being able to provide solutions to the internal problems that adolescents face on a regular basis in the school grounds.
