Abstract

Doctoral programs in educational leadership (EL) has broadened over the last decades, with diverse knowledge-production traditions (e.g. scholarly, policy informed or practice based); audiences (e.g. practitioners, researchers, and policy makers). Less is known about the doctoral dissertations’ knowledge production (e.g. epistemology, methodology and impact). This paper speaks to this gap in our collective knowledge offering a meta-analysis scoping study of doctoral dissertations completed in the last 20 years in one doctoral program of EL at central Texas, and aiming at identifying topical foci, epistemology, methodology and main themes.
Accordingly, we offered topical foci, key themes, epistemology, theoretical and frames that have been used.
