Thu, May 4, 4:15 to 5:45pm CDT (4:15 to 5:45pm CDT), Division J Virtual Sessions, Division J - Postsecondary Education Virtual Paper Room

Abstract

In this systematic review, we examine the scholarship on recruiting and hiring racially minoritized faculty to determine how this issue is being studied and the recommendations that ensue. In analyzing 83 sources, we found most of the scholarship focuses on or includes recommendations that largely sustain the racial status quo. We aim to offer the field critical insight and direction about the policies and practices that advance or disrupt the racial status quo in terms of recruiting and hiring racially minoritized faculty.
