In the wake of COVID 19, students around the globe pivoted to online instruction. As the country navigated the pandemic, there was a hyperawareness of inequity, discrimination, and the potential link between the two. Our interest was in the prevalence of online racial discrimination (ORD) and its escalation. This prompted us to systematically review 166 articles about ORD. Using age (adolescent and young adults) of students, 21 articles were ultimately included in this systematic review. Preliminary results from the synthesis suggest that ORD has a deleterious effect on students’ mental health, well-being and academics. As such, the implications suggest that ORD will continue to need to be monitored and studied, even as we emerge from the pandemic.
