This study developed and tested a chain mediating model to examine teacher constructive engagement and sense of responsibility for ICT application as two mediators in the relationship between school support and teacher digital competence. Using a sample of 1001 primary and secondary school teachers in mainland China, findings revealed that teacher digital competence was positively affected by school support through the chain mediating role of teacher constructive engagement and sense of responsibility for ICT application. This study reveals the inner mechanism that how school support has an impact on teacher digital competence, providing a reference for how teachers' digital competence can be improved in the school situation.
