Abstract

We present the testing and validation of a new survey tool to measure where individuals are in their journey to support and lead equity in their educational organizations. Unlike most DEI survey tools, this is not an organizational climate survey (though it has clear implications for that) but rather a snapshot of where a particular person is on their personal journey. Thus it provides agency for individuals, managers, coaches and others to be part of change by both supporting institutional efforts but also on their own. Data were collected from 1,075 adults from about 30 educational and non-profit organizations. We present an exploratory factor analysis and criterion validation of the instrument.
