Development and Evolution of Teacher Dispositions Framework and Assessment

Abstract

The purpose of study was to examine our disposition framework and how it is infused in our teacher preparation program. This paper shares the results of an exploratory case study where the authors reviewed data from surveys and disposition assessments to consider revisions to our framework and tools to better support our students. In addition to examining our own practices we reviewed disposition frameworks and assessments from other colleges of education. The dispositions we want to cultivate remained a focus; however the study revealed the ways in which we need to consider the current teaching environment. This review provided several implications.
