Academic podcasts offer one way to answer the call to democratize knowledge acquisition and make research freely available to a public audience. This qualitative case study explores the ways in which academic podcasting can contribute to more efficient and more effective communication between researchers and stakeholders. Through quantitative data, we measured the reach and attention to our podcast with a global audience. Our qualitative data sources indicate that podcasts provide support for professional relationships, establish common ground for conversation and action, and promote new directions for further professional learning. We found that podcasts provide researchers an opportunity to accelerate the dissemination of their ideas and close equity gaps and enhance communication between research and practice.
