An Overlooked Resource? Exploring Community College Career and Technical Education Faculty Use of Student-Level Data to Improve Student Outcomes (Poster 2)

Abstract

Community colleges have made progress toward using student-level data to inform decision-making processes with the goal of improving student outcomes. However, most efforts are focused on transfer programs and at the institutional level (e.g. Bailey, Jaggars, & Jenkins, 2015; Phillips & Horowitz, 2017). Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and faculty are left out despite their large size (Author, 2021; Zhang & Oymak, 2018). This study puts CTE faculty at the epicenter of efforts to interpret and use academic and employment data to spur programmatic changes that close equity gaps and improve student outcomes.
