Abstract

The research summarized in this paper examines impacts of the pandemic on student performance on the ACT test. We compare outcomes during the three years preceding the pandemic (2018, 2019, and early 2020) to outcomes in 2021, 2022, and 2023, while accounting for changes in the tested population across years. We examine the initial impacts of the pandemic, as well as recovery. Results are compared for different student and school socio-demographic groups.
