Abstract

The purpose of this study was to provide insights into the process of establishing and implementing a research-practice-provider partnership. As digital learning materials become increasingly prevalent in K-12 education settings, traditional RPPs may benefit from including education technology providers as well. However, to do so successfully, it is important to identify best practices for co-constructing research agendas, sharing data, and communicating findings so that such collaborations benefit researchers, practitioners, providers, and ultimately, students.
Through the lens of policy attributes theory, this study explored the experiences of researchers, practitioners, and providers involved in the formation and execution of a novel RPPP. We focused our investigation on participants’ experiences in three areas:
1. Whose agenda?
2. Whose data?
3. Whose truth?
