Psychological Well-being (PWB) is a major focus within the field of positive psychology. Ryff (1989) developed and validated a novel measurement of PWB due existing measures were not developed from a theory-driven perspective. While many studies are using the PWB and much has been done to validate a shortened 18-item tool, an item response theory framework had never be used. This study used Rasch modeling which supported a unidimensional structure instead of the proposed six factors and highlighted three concerning items.
