The purpose of this paper is to describe methodological adaptations for analyzing multimodal discourse synthesis data produced in the context of a preservice teacher writing methods course. Guided by theoretical plurality and transdisciplinary approaches to methods, we position our multimodal data analysis process at the interstices of cognitive, social, critical, and digital approaches to reading and writing (Tierney & Pearson, 2021). During the session, we will (1) explicate our processes for analyzing multimodal discourse synthesis data and source texts, (2) demonstrate how we used data analysis software as a tool that led to methodological discoveries for creating analytical procedures, and (3) share examples of data presentation options from our resulting analysis.
