The use of 360 videos is taking a foothold in teacher education. With 360 videos, Pre-Service Teachers (PST) can look around them and better understand what is watched. A challenge related to this technology is the evaluation of its impact. The construct of presence has been deployed as an important measure of PST engagement and noticing.
However, previous studies focused on presence as a static concept; no attention has been given to how to improve it. This paper responds to this gap by presenting a longitudinal study with 20 PSTs exposed to three rounds of 360 videos. Demographic/education variables and data related to presence and pedagogical/content knowledge were collected. Results point to future research needs and implications for teacher educators.
