Play is a child's right. A heavy focus on accountability resulted in the decline of play and the rise of more structured and direct instruction. Considering early childhood teachers' experiences induce professional beliefs and influence teaching practices, reflecting on play experiences and teaching practices is critical. This qualitative study examined play experiences and play pedagogy among infant in-service teachers in Korea using drawing-based research. A careful analysis of data, including a drawing task and semi-structured interviews, revealed the linking of teaching practice and teachers' play experiences, preferences, and interests. This study discusses the philosophy-reality conflict, the new possibility of using a drawing as a self-reflection tool, and the ways to honor and acknowledge a child's right to play fully.
