New Faculty Orientation at a Distance: Providing a Truly Personal Experience (Poster 40)

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has been especially hard for new faculty. Establishing a sense of community, affiliations with the university, and connectedness have been difficult. Faculty new to their institutions are feeling less connected than ever, while at the same time attempting to fulfill their expected duties in a mostly remote fashion. This paper will review how one institution moved new faculty orientation online while working to create a truly personal experience for each new faculty member, including a discussion of the outcomes and lessons learned.
