Cultivating a Connection to Place and Dreaming Indigenous Futures Through a Native American Sisterhood's Legacy

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to provide fraternity and sorority communities with a greater understanding of the impact of a Native American Sisterhood and how sisters found place and how they are envisioning continued connections and dreaming of Indigenous futures. Through the first research inquiry of a Native American Sisterhood, early findings reveal/highlight how the sisterhood impacted members' in tangible ways. We share how we are reconceptualizing fraternity and sorority communities by honoring Indigeneity that HNAFS can provide as an essential shift.
