Experts' Perceptions of Services Across Types of Placement

• In Event: The Truth About Least Restrictive Environment, Instructional Contexts, and Outcomes for Students With Extensive Support Needs

Abstract

This research studied the perceptions of special education experts who had recent and comprehensive engagement in services for students with extensive support needs (ESN) across four placement types (i.e., in general education classes for 80% or more, 40-79%, less than 40%, 0% of the day) across 30 states. It focuses on what experts see in these placements related to students’ opportunities to learn and outcomes.
