This paper provides insight into young newcomer (immigrant and refugee populations) lived(ing) experiences in the education system in Quebec, Canada, with specific attention to Adult Secondary English Education and English Post-Secondary Institutions in Quebec. It highlights their experiences in the French sector of Quebec, unpacking their later choice to study in English instruction institutions. In comparison with the rest of Canada, Quebec represents a unique case, with its own immigration and linguistic education policies for newcomers. Furthermore, this paper emphasizes the significant role that educational spaces play in integrating newcomers as they negotiate their new realities and identities. As policies evolve and extend in Quebec, this text is fundamental to creating discourses between policy makers, educators and researchers.
