Extensive Research in and of Theaters, Museums, and Gardens: A Continuing, Moving Investigation

• In Event: From Early Childhood to Educational Researchers: Foucault and Contemporary Theory in Education

Abstract

This paper extends participatory research born out of the 2022 AERA conference through the blurring of collective data from three empirical studies that lie outside of typical education settings. Our collective work defies traditional structures and processes by uses of the arts and multiplicities while examining regimes of truth, including those that govern education research. Methods are based in creativity and movements, and utilize conventional, as well as atypical, data sources. Recorded multimedia images and sounds from the three combined studies were shared with audiences for their insertion into the research, as they chose. The resulting multimedia productions will be shared with the 2023 AERA conference and the new audience will be invited to contribute and extend our ongoing project.
