Allyship in education and educational leadership is an important area of study. The purpose of this work is to help anticolonial educators connect Indigenous teaching and learning to the goals of decolonization and impact generations. According to Indigenous scholars, more attention needs to be directed at humanitarian relationships, reparation, policies, freedom, and sovereignty. The research question guiding this systematic literature review was, What does the literature impart about allyship in education? Consequential peer-reviewed sources by Indigenous scholars and allies was an inclusion criterion. Three themes (elements) were identified: allyship and dialogic transparency, decolonization and the radical imaginary, and Indigenous futurity and the future. The Allies for Politicizing Pedagogy framework links these elements in ways that serve allyship.
