The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the world for the last three years in many facets of life, with one of the biggest adverse effects on the education system in the U.S because of an unequal disruption to the learning process. This review examines how this unequal access to the Internet and technology during the pandemic affected the school context regarding English Learners from immigrant backgrounds. Findings revealed that while teachers’ previous experience in online teaching and technological competencies bolstered teacher instruction, learning was disrupted by the disproportionate access to the technology of minoritized students. Parents proved to be the key partners in supporting student learning with additional resources, and administrators played an important role in strengthening the school network.
