Abstract

Violence against LGBTIQ+ youth is a global problem. Educational institutions and educators play an essential role in either transforming or reproducing this situation, but, there is a lack of pedagogical training initiatives and materials with an evidence base and the aim of achieving social impact. Funded by the European Commission, the Up4Diversity project aims at empowering educators to be upstanders for LGBTIQ+. Training for professionals was developed to teach them evidence-based knowledge and skills. This paper describes this training initiative and explores its impact through pre and post-questionnaires and interviews. Results show that the training reinforced concerned professionals and provided them with skills they can use.
