The paper shares the results of the process of creating a cross-disciplinary collaborative team and user-centered design to co-create and develop a self-directed, self-paced, flexible, personalized learning environment as an alternative pathway to preparing PK-8 teacher candidates (TCs) to teach CT. It is part of a larger project that attempts to create a more extensive curriculum for Computer Science (CS) within a credentialing learning environment. It further applies the literature review results in conceptualizing and designing a framework for co-creating a module on computational thinking as an example for the learner-managed CS credentialing learning environment. The CT module aims to transform teaching and learning from a traditional course-based, instructor-guided approach to a self-directed, self-paced, flexible, personalized teaching model.
