Queer Positions Within the Struggle for LGBTQ+ Curriculum

Abstract

This paper/presentation produces and presents a cartography of queer as a concept being produced and refuted through inclusive and oppressive curricular policies and youth on social media. The paper steps into recent legislated reforms in California, Nevada, and Florida. Using intra-action as a theory, we see these policies not in isolation but as participating in an ongoing production of queerness through associations and dissociations. The findings in the cartography are used to support subversive as well as critical curricular paradigms that teachers/schools need in this moment.
