Limited research has explored parental participation in math e-book design, despite e-books being popular among families with young children. Consequently, unanswered questions remain in determining what approaches can best boost children’s educational outcomes through media use and how the best approach varies across different demographics and contexts. Within Latine communities, for instance, Latine children can be understood through their parents’ living pedagogies. The current qualitative study of 23 Latine parents explored their lived experiences of using a math e-book prototype to inform the final e-book design for children. Preliminary results suggest that including Latine parents’ voices in developmental research is critical to understanding what parents prioritize when choosing and using e-books: cultural prominence, media beliefs, and e-book design.
