Abstract

This paper introduces a formative design and evaluation process of authentic scenarios in developing virtual reality (VR) parent-teacher conference training simulation for pre-service teachers. The scenarios were structured based on the three components of the Parent-Teacher Communication Competences model (sequencing of communication, psychological aspects of communication, and communication flow). Then the formative design process was followed through three phases including identification, validation, and finalization of the scenarios. We used survey findings and expert reviews for iterative revisions and designed three valid and authentic scenarios to be used for the parent-teacher conference training simulation.
