Abstract

Due to an increasing digitalization, many routine activities in companies are computerized and automated. Remaining tasks are complex; employees therefore increasingly need problem-solving competencies (Baethge-Kinsky, 2020). Those are anchored in German vocational edu-cation and training and problem solving is increasingly included in instructional processes. It should then be verified in tests/exams whether this goal is achieved (curriculum-instruction-assessment triad, Pellegrino, 2010). However, professional examination practices in Germany are criticized because primarily knowledge reproduction is measured. This is partly due to a lack of knowledge of the examiners. Therefore, we developed a training in which examiners learn to develop tasks that measure problem-solving competence. Findings so far show promising results.
