Abstract

This mixed-method study inquiries the relationship between teachers' practical knowledge and teachers' knowledge sharing behavior, focusing on the mediation of teachers' self-efficacy. A sample of 383 teachers who teach in the ordinary high school in China was measured with the revised scales which are the TPK scale, the TKSB scale and the TSE scale. The data analysis shows that TSE plays partial mediation role between TKSB and TPK. Follow-up qualitative interviews on twelve teachers were conducted to explain how such effect took place. This finding indicates that the knowledge sharing behavior is a form of teachers' practical knowledge management, it has become an important factor in the generation, flow, storage and sharing of practical knowledge for teachers.
