Thu, April 13, 8:00 to 9:30am CDT (8:00 to 9:30am CDT), Swissôtel Chicago, Floor: Event Centre, 1st Floor, St. Gallen 3

Abstract

The present study examined the association between educational aspirations and the time perspective of students. We interrogated 88 young individuals aged between 11 and 19 years who were enrolled in a Berlin secondary school. The participants completed a questionnaire consisting of questions on idealistic and realistic educational aspirations as well as the Adolescent Time Inventory assessing their time orientation. Correlational analysis indicated that educational aspirations and adolescents' future time perspectives were interrelated. Implications of the work were discussed and recommendations for future research were given.
