The paper draws on a two-year research study in one elementary school in Toronto, Canada at which research-creation methodologies are used to explore the integration of philosophy in pedagogical activities with children. In this paper I present a Non-Canonical Philosophy with children (NCP) - a kind of philosophy based primarily on ideas from non-Western philosophy, and which values affect and emotion just as much as reasoning and argumentation. I argue that research-creation methodologies create ‘platforms of experimentation’ (Manning & Massumi, 2014) that enable a more inclusive conception of philosophy to be explored with children in a diverse school in Toronto.
