This self-study explores the implications of convening a research network for teachers. The research was undertaken by the convenors of the network.
The aims of the research include establishing the significance of convening a network, discovering the potential of the network for participants and interrogating the implications of the network for influencing educational policy.
This study uses self-study, educational action research and Living Theory research methodologies. Data for this study was obtained from reflective journals, video recordings and critical dialogue at network meetings.
Results show that participation in the network has influenced researchers’ own learning about their practice, as well the learning of others but show little evidence of educational influence in terms of policy.
