Research Motivation, Research Self-Efficacy, and Research Anxiety Among L2 Graduate Learners: Structural Equation Modeling Approach (Poster 37)

Abstract

Progress in social sciences, including Applied Linguistics, is highly contingent on methodological research issues. One important factor affecting such a new movement is the researchers’ individual differences in shaping their research repertoire. As a result, the current study, which employs a path-analytic approach, investigates the interrelationship between three significant individual factors in an EFL (English as a Foreign Language) context, namely research self-efficacy, research anxiety, and research motivation. The path-analytic findings revealed such interrelationships among factors, as mentioned earlier. More specifically, the findings revealed a negative and statistically significant relationship between research anxiety and research motivation. Also, a significant relationship existed between research self-efficacy and research motivation.
