Supporting Novice Teachers Through University-Based Mentoring: Reframing Approaches to Teacher Induction (Poster 5)

Abstract

Participants in this session will be introduced to an induction program for 1st and 2nd year teachers. This university-based project focused on teacher education assessment aimed at helping teacher educators better understand how recent graduates perceived and measured their own impact on student learning. These purposes are informed, in part, by the call to action for colleges and universities engaged in assessment and accreditation to inquire into their graduates’ impact on student learning and the degree to which their training programs inform novice teachers’ practices in the field.
