District Office Leadership Supporting Sustainable Site-Level Teacher Collaborative Teams

Researchers examining professional learning communities (PLCs) claim that effective building-level PLCs improve teacher collaboration and student achievement. We explored the role of district office leadership (DOL) in providing capital and human resources to ensure the success of site-level PLC teams. We examined quantitative survey data from 596 participants at 21 schools within 16 districts to determine whether DOL support enhances the success of site-level PLCs.
