In this methodology paper, the authors consider the prospects for ‘quantizing’ community-based research or the potential benefits of applying quantum concepts to analyze complex qualitative data. They reconsider their own recently completed community-based research on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in schools to examine the ways in which quantum logic might re-frame key phenomena toward a more complex understanding of education (post)COVID-19, for example by understanding schools as co-constituted communities rather than place-based. In conclusion, the authors elucidate possible ways in which quantum concepts might be strategically and selectively employed in program assessments to retain narrative complexity, potentially toward more equitable allocation of resources in educational programming.
