Abstract

Diversity and equity issues are prominent in most liberal arts colleges in the United States. The majority of institutions have been predominantly White with increasing enrollment for students of color. It is questionable whether liberal arts colleges are ready to serve a diverse student body. Research from the NACCC has indicated that students of color and White students live different racial realities. In this paper, we present five themes that emerged from the NACCC results of 51 liberal arts colleges.
