During the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Oxford Achieving Resilience during COVID-19 (ARC) study collected multiple-wave, longitudinal data from adolescents (aged 13-18) and their parents regarding mental health, resilience and wellbeing, COVID-19 related experiences and pandemic anxiety. One key aspect of the adolescents’ COVID-related experiences concerns their behavioral patterns in engaging in various types of media technology use and non-technology activities.
Thus, the aim of this study is (a) to conduct an exploratory cluster analysis using three different clustering algorithms to identify the profiles of adolescent technology use and activities during COVID-19, and (b) compare and characterize the resulting clusters in terms of their demographic composition, social support received, and various dimensions of adolescent mental health conditions.
