Abstract

While creative teaching is considered crucial in improving student outcomes, its implementation is influenced by teachers’ perceptions of creative teaching. Thus, developing an understanding of creative teaching from the teachers’ point of view is important as these perspectives give shape and meaning to their creative educational practices. The present study investigated teachers’ perspectives on creative teaching using Sternberg and Karami’s (2022) 8P theoretical framework of creativity as the analysis framework. Semi-structured interviews were conducted among 10 elementary and high school teachers in Taiwan. The study revealed 8 themes and 24 subthemes about how teachers recognize, understand, and endeavor in creative teaching. Results help deepen our understanding of teachers’ creative teaching and encourage future work in this research area.
