The "Zero Violence Brave Club": Preventing Bullying Through Solidarity, Respect, and Supportive Interactions

Abstract

Bullying is a problem that affects children all over the world. Research suggests that interventions focused on the active participation of community members are effective in overcoming bullying. The Dialogic Model of Violence Prevention is recognized as a Successful Educational Action that contributes overcome this problem. This qualitative
study was carried out in seven schools and studied how the "Zero Violence Brave Club",
a specific intervention strategy derived from this model, enhances the creation of
solidarity and friendship networks that protect from bullying. For the research, a total of
10 interviews were conducted with teachers from public and private schools. The following results emerged from the analysis: (1) Solidarity Interactions; (2) Relationships based on respect; and (3) Supportive Behaviors.
