Abstract

The study aimed to explore leadership responsibilities and qualities among teacher educators from India by using the self-assessment leadership scale for teachers (SALST) developed and standardized by Author to survey 60 teacher educators from Northern India. The study also focuses to explore the dimensions of teacher leadership which are important to teacher educators and could affect their performance. The study provides insight and understanding of leadership qualities which serves as a base to elevate teacher educators to lead within and beyond the classroom, and improve teaching and learning practices with the aim of the harmonious development of prospective teachers in the Indian context.
