The Impact of Climate Change on the Migratory Intention of Students: Case of Students From Sub-Saharan Africa at Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech, Morocco

Abstract

The aim of this work is to assess the relationship between climate change and the
emigration intention of students from sub-Saharan Africa after completing their
higher education. To answer the problem, we based ourselves on a questionnaire
that we sent to our sample made up of 127 students from sub-Saharan Africa
enrolled at the CADI AYYAD university in Marrakech, Morocco. Data were
collected and analyzed using the logistic regression method. The results obtained
show us that the temperature is the component which, according to the model,
encourages students to stay in Morocco. While the plant cover and rainfall are not
determining elements.
