Abstract

Teacher educators play a critical role in amplifying the quality of education. The purpose of this research was to draw attention to the importance that teacher educators actively develop their teaching and conduct research in education. This is retrospective self-study were we through the critical and collaborative lens of self-study focus on the construction of our teaching. Data consists of our journals and participatory interviews with each other.
We identified how willingness to constantly learn and develop was based in collaboration and made the premise of our teaching and research as we channeled through self-study. Believing in our collective capabilities and resources our collaboration also afforded us the courage to try innovations and take an active part in educational discourse.
