Policy makers and educators make statements like "no child left behind" and "inclusion for all students" regarding U.S. schools, but schools have not progressed a lot concerning stereotyping Muslims. American schools continue to be places where people who are different (minoritized students) do not have an equal opportunity to succeed. It is the job of educators to make sure that minoritized students and their families have equitable opportunities to succeed. To that end, this study focuses on understanding the experience of Pakistani Muslims to help gain insight on how to best solve this problem. The purpose of this phenomenological study is to understand the essence of the lived experiences of a group of Pakistani Muslim families attending U.S. schools.
