Abstract

This paper uses 95% confidence intervals to compare the culturally responsive teaching self-efficacy (CRTSE) of teacher candidates in urban immersive residency programs to teacher candidates in traditional preparation programs. A literature synthesis by Young & Young (2021) provided data on previous studies on CRTSE beliefs of teacher candidates in traditional programs. Data from the current study was plotted alongside the previous studies and a visual comparison of the 95% confidence intervals was made. Results of the study show there is no statistically significant different between teacher candidates in urban immersive residency programs and those from traditional programs. However findings suggest the CRTSE beliefs of teacher candidates in residency programs does have the potential to grow.
